All about me!

I was born and raised in Sunny Queensland! I spent most of my childhood in Brisbane and then in Mackay, which is a warm sugar cane growing town in the North of Queensland. I grew up spending a lot of time at the beach, camping, exploring  and generally enjoying the outdoor life. I am the youngest of four children 2 boys and 2 girls who have all grown up to be unique and diverse individuals. I was raised with strong values and morals and appreciate all the opportunities I was given.

On leaving school I entered the workforce caring for children and have worked my way up to be where I am now- a graduating teacher. I have lived and worked in several communities and have travelled to many interesting and diverse countries our world has to offer. I have 2 children and I thoroughly enjoy watching and guiding them in their growth and  development in which they are challenged along their path towards becoming successful and adaptable citizens within our progressive and dynamic society. The next stage of my life excites me and is driven by a passion to provide children with opportunities and excitement towards learning and life.

Community Connections

Along with a passion for teaching I also feel very strongly about getting out there amongst the community and forming strong links within the organisations to support children as they grow and develop.

I am involved with my local primary school, holding a position on the School Board and being a member of the grounds committee and the P&C committee. I am proactive in getting the children outside and have implemented the Travelsmart program, which is a statewide initiative that encourages active travel to and from school, promoting economic, environmental and health benefits for all. I have also established a Safety House Program in support of the Travelsmart program and consequently the independent mobility of the children in our community.

As a family we participate in many sporting and outdoor opportunities, support local businesses where possible and also make great use of community facilities such as the libraries and recreation centres. In the future I look forward to being involved in many more community initiatives and aim to continue the current programs with the continued support of the school and community.

Being presented with "Greatest improved" school for WA" award by Mayor Creevey and Councillor Rhys Williams.
